Here's a very annoying trend I've found in fantasy art. Why is it that so many people will design a creature or monster that is so very exaggerated in features, but when drawing the female version simply draw up their preferred porn model shape and add vestigal hints that it might be related somehow to the cool male version? 
Scratch that. I know why and it really irks me.

In the creature I designed here for demonstration, I've created a... let's call it a Hermit Ogre. The male Ogre is huge, musclebound, has a claw, spines, gigantic horns, blah blah. 

The first female version I drew is what I usually see when checking out drawings of male and female creatures. A nearly naked Human woman with some touches of maybe not-humanness about her. SCREW THAT! What the hell? Can you imagine these two creatures doing--- nevermind, obviously if you're drawing this sort of stuff, you are imagining that and you're a bad person.

The second female creature I designed is more believable... but let's talk about it. In the REAL WORLD not all species have males and females that have this particular kind of biomorphism. Insects, for example, are usually the opposite. The females are huge and powerful and the males are smaller, weaker and rely on speed just to keep from being killed by the female!
If the horns and claws and things are important for the survival of the male, why WOULDN'T the female need them too? If its just for showing off for mating purposes, okay. So, let's assume you absolutely HAVE to have tits on your female monster, and want to follow the deer or moose model of biomorphism. Okay, your female is slightly smaller, the horns and claws maybe less ridiculously huge... but they're still recognizable as the same species. This is important!

Remember that most of the time with animals, you can't always tell with a glance which ones are male or female. Cats, for example. Look at a room full of cats (any kind other than lion in fact) and see if you can just check out the mammaries and hips and say which is which.

I'd love to see more female Ogres, Orcs and Goblins that are more than just porn stars with vampire fangs and green body makeup. Many of you have great talent out there, try to apply some creativity to it as well!
